Product-Led Growth (PLG) & Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) — Fixing the Churn Leak

In a product-led business, the free tier or trial is the sales team. When people sign up and do not come back, that is the leak, and it is usually at one specific step.

To maximize lifetime value for software subscriptions, we analyze user interaction tracking maps to isolate exactly where free-tier or trial users abandon your onboarding flow. We replace confusing dashboards with clear setup paths.

The aim is to raise your platform's free-to-paid user conversion rate and compound monthly recurring revenue (MRR) without needing to buy more traffic. We measure it. We do not promise it.

How we approach it

Start by finding the step

Aggregate numbers hide the problem. We map the path from signup to first value to a repeated habit, add or repair the events that record each step, and read where users stop. The fix is aimed at the step with the largest drop, not at the page that is easiest to redesign.

What we change

  • The first screen after signup: one clear next action instead of a full dashboard.
  • Setup: fewer fields, defaults that work, and nothing asked for before it is needed.
  • Empty states: telling a new user what to do rather than showing nothing.
  • Upgrade prompts: placed where the user has just received value, not where they are blocked.

Tracking that survives ad blockers

Browser-side analytics under-counts a technical audience, who often block it. We use server-side events for the steps that matter, so the funnel reflects what happened and not what the browser happened to report.

When testing is possible, and when it is not

A/B testing needs enough traffic to detect a difference. A product with a few hundred signups a month usually cannot run a meaningful test on a small change, and pretending otherwise produces false winners. In that case we change one thing at a time, measure before and after, and say plainly how confident the result is.

No current client results in this vertical yet. Aroc has no software client result to publish, so nothing on this page is a result. It describes the method and the order we would work in. The documented evidence for the method so far is a Rawai spa’s first three months, including the forecast we got wrong.

Start with where your users stop.

Assess is a fixed-scope diagnosis of what your site does today. Then you decide what comes next. You can also read how the Aroc growth system is organised.
