A real Grow report, sent to a real client on 2 October 2026 and shown in full, including the prediction we got wrong. Notes beside each section show which promise on the Grow page it keeps.

How to read this

Each part of the report appears as the client received it. The only changes are that people’s names have been removed and charts are redrawn for the web. The notes beside it explain which promise on the Grow page that part keeps.

Watch for three things. The bad numbers are the same size as the good ones. The work is done before it’s reported. And the report ends with what it can’t prove.

  1. 1The short version, first
  2. 2Predictions, marked
  3. 3Traffic that can’t buy, named
  4. 4Every listing, not just the website
  5. 5Work done before it’s reported
  6. 6Enquiries counted
  7. 7Next month, chosen from the evidence
  8. 8What it can’t prove

Sent 2 October 2026. Shown as delivered, with people’s names removed.

This was the month the work started showing up

9.7Your home page's position, from 19.7 — on 1,040 appearancesFirst page of Google
152peoplePeople who visited, against 105+45%

Every single page on your site improved its position. Not one went backwards. Four of them are now on the first page of Google. In August, one was.

And I got my main prediction wrong. Last month I told you to expect your “times shown” number to fall by 300 to 400. It rose by 307. The section below explains why, because the reason matters more than the number.

Growth report · Month 3 · Section 2 · Finding 1

My prediction was wrong, and the fix it was based on worked

Last month I changed your wellness page so it would stop matching people searching for a hotel, and I wrote: “Expect your ‘times shown’ number to fall next month, by roughly 300 to 400.”

wellness resort in rawai phuketTimes shownClicks
August3210
September520

It fell by 269 — almost exactly the fall I predicted. The fix did what it was meant to do. What I got wrong was assuming the total would follow. Everything else grew by more than that search shrank, so your overall number went up 307 instead of down.

The useful version of that prediction would have been: the hotel traffic will fall by about 300, and whether your total falls depends on what the rest of the site does. I will write them that way from now on.

Growth report · Month 3 · Section 2 · Findings 2–5

Every page improved, and some traffic was never going to buy

2 · Every page improved, which is rare

The page I rewrote last month behaved exactly as designed: its times-shown halved from 298 to 151, because it stopped appearing for people who were never going to book, and its position improved from 40.7 to 25.9.

Your Thai pages earned 11 of the month's 41 clicks — 27% — from 15% of the traffic. They convert better than the English pages do. Thailand is now 1,204 of your 1,980 appearances and 25 of your 41 clicks, at position 9.5. Your local audience is the one that is working.

4 · Twenty-seven visits came from ChatGPT

ItemAugustSeptember
AI assistant visits427

Nearly four in five of them stayed and read something, a better rate than any other source you have. Twenty-seven is still a small number, but it is the fastest-growing thing in your data, and it is people asking an assistant where to go and being told about you. One more came from Perplexity.

5 · Two of your pages answering the same search, and what it costs

The problem, in one sentence: when two of your own pages both look like the answer to the same search, Google has to pick one, and it usually ranks both lower than it would rank a single clear page. You are bidding against yourself, and the search is the thing you lose.

The check flagged seven searches this month. Two of them are fine and I will say why. Here are all seven, with which page is winning and which is dragging.

wellness resort in rawai phuketHome 34 · What a visit is like 1848.5 · 59.3Not a problem. This is the hotel search we deliberately stopped chasing

The honest version of “it is improving”. The raw figure went from 778 appearances caught in splits to 396 — but most of that fall is the hotel search I removed on purpose, which alone was 321 of August's 778.

Stripping out your brand name and the hotel search, the real comparison is:

ItemSearches genuinely splitAppearances in them
August3329
September5270

More searches affected, somewhat less traffic in them. That is real progress and it is smaller than the headline. Two of September's five are the ice bath pair, which did not show up in August — because in August those pages were not ranking well enough to compete with anything.

rawai spa is the one that matters. Your home page is winning it, but 67 appearances still go to two pages that cannot.

Home page 46.3 to 22.2 on 61 appearances, and it took the only click. Section 8 says why I am not fixing the rest this month.

Two thirds of the people who find you are in Maps, on a phone

Where things stand

Areas served on your websiteDone this month — seven areas now in your website's business record, as agreed. (This is a different thing from your Google profile's “service areas” field, which we are deliberately leaving empty — see section 8.)
Ice bath pricingCorrected site-wide — it now says 200 THB entry plus 30 THB a bag, everywhere
Google review countWas wrong in five places on the site. All five fixed
Google review count on the siteOut of date again — your site says 73; your profile shows 79. Corrected in five places in September and already stale. First on October's list
Google Business Profile — figuresReported in full below — views, every action, and four months of history, from the export you sent
Google Business Profile — how complete it isMostly empty — description, categories and website link are done. Services, offerings, amenities, parking, payment methods and posts are all still blank. October's biggest item
Directory listingsThird month — Wanderlog, Phuket Insider, TripAdvisor, still not claimed

A note on August, before you read the profile figures. You told me your listing had been renamed to a competitor's and Google accepted it. Without the date of that Google case I cannot tell which part of August was affected, so August is not a baseline and the section below does not use it as one. Every comparison that matters there is against July, the last month we know was clean.

Your Google Business Profile

Figures from the profile's own performance export, 28 August – 28 September 2026. That is one day longer than the rest of this report — Google's export runs to the 28th, everything else here to the 27th. I am naming the difference rather than quietly comparing a 32-day figure to a 31-day one.

Ninety-two percent of the people who find your profile are on a phone, and two thirds of them are in Google Maps. That is unchanged from the June–July baseline, where Maps-mobile was also 66%. Maps is your front door, not your website.

Read against July, not August

Every action is up on August — interactions +22%, website clicks +33%, calls +60%, directions +14%, and six new reviews. But August is the month your listing carried a competitor's name, and without the date of the Google case I cannot tell how much of August it covered.

Against July: interactions 127 → 116, directions 88 → 72 and calls 10 → 8 are all still below where you were. Website clicks, 29 → 36, are the only one ahead — and that is the one your website work would be expected to move. That is the honest shape of it: recovered from a bad August, not yet back to July.

Messages: zero. The profile has a messaging button and nobody has used it in four months. Worth knowing before anyone suggests promoting it.

The site changes went live on 1 September. The first two weeks look like the month before; weeks three and four are where it turns. That is the normal lag for Google to re-read a site, and it is the clearest evidence that the changes are what moved it.

And what Google will tell us about them

First, a limit you should know about

Google does not show us most of your own searches. It hides any search too few people typed, to protect their privacy. So the table of searches below is not a complete picture, and it matters how incomplete:

A correction

Last month's report said five searches “produced 41 clicks”. That was wrong — they produced six, and the other 35 came from searches Google will not name. I am correcting it here rather than leaving it.

The page table does add up. Every click landed on a page, even when Google will not say what was typed to get there. So read the pages for what is working, and the searches for what you are visible for.

Three months of positions, side by side

You asked for this on our last call — “what was our position last month? I want to see that over time.” It has been in the data since July and never assembled. Here it is, and it will be in every report from now on.

Each cell is your position, with how many times you were shown in brackets. A position on its own means nothing; a position on three appearances means less than nothing.

rawai spa went 42.2 → 32.6 → 19.5. rawai massage went 42.0 → 24.6 → 13.3. Meanwhile ice bath near me went 3.3 → 5.8 → 8.2 — worse every single month, while being shown more often each month.

What this means and what I am doing about it

This is the same finding as last month's, now with three months behind it. For “near me” searches Google puts the map listings above the ordinary web results, so your website position drifts while your profile does the work. The website is winning where a place is named.

The profile is what serves everything else — and it is the part that is still nearly empty. Description and categories are done. Services, offerings, amenities, parking, payments and posts are all blank. That is why section 8 puts the profile first.

And one thing only a trend can show you

wellness resort in rawai phuket
PositionTimes shown
July53.6256
August50.2321
September52.252

Your position barely moved. The appearances collapsed. That is exactly what the September fix was supposed to do — we did not get better at ranking for hotel searches, we stopped turning up in them at all. A single month's figures cannot tell those two apart. This is the view that can.

Growth report · Month 3 · Section 8

The contact button: 12 → 20 taps

You have one contact button. It is a WhatsApp button, and it appears in four places on every page: your header, the floating bubble in the corner, your footer, and the “get in touch” block near the bottom of the page.

ItemAugSep
Taps on the WhatsApp button1220

Everything that happens on your site goes through that one button. Your phone number and email address are also on the site and also measured, and across two months neither has been used once — not a gap in the measuring, a real zero. Your customers message. They do not call or email. That fits your Google profile too, where calls are your smallest action at 8 a month.

What I cannot tell you yet, and what I am doing about it

I cannot tell you which of the four places people tapped, or which page they were on. What is recorded today is the message the button pre-filled, and that only varies on four of your pages:

What the button pre-filledAugSepWhat that tells us
A plain enquiry818Tapped from somewhere that is not one of the four service pages — most likely your home page
“a massage booking”21Tapped on the massage page
“the ice bath and cold plunge”—1Tapped on the ice bath page
“the herbal steam sauna”1—Tapped on the sauna page
Not recorded1—

So the honest reading of September is: 18 taps from pages that do not set their own message, one from the massage page, one from the ice bath page. That is consistent with where your traffic grew — the home page.

Fixed in October

The button already knows which page it is on and which of the four places it sits in; those two facts simply were not being recorded. From next month this table becomes which page and which button position, exactly, instead of a message standing in for it.

This is a different picture from the search data, and the difference is the useful part. In search, your ice bath page is the star. In behaviour, services and massage are where people go and stay — 99 and 58 views, and the two longest engagement times on the site at 23 and 27 seconds.

Your services page gets almost no search traffic at all. People are reaching it by clicking through from somewhere else, and then spending longer on it than on anything except massage. It is doing a job nobody designed it to do, and it is worth understanding before anything is changed on it.

Contact page views have gone 1 → 10 → 19. Not an enquiry, but people are looking for how to reach you nearly twenty times a month now.

What this report does not prove, and questions for you

  • I predicted the wrong thing last month and said so in section 2. The fix worked; my forecast of what it would do to the total did not.
  • Nothing here proves a booking. Clicks, visits and twenty contact taps are not customers. If you can tell me roughly how September felt at the desk, I can start connecting them.
  • Your profile is below July on three of its four measures, and section 3b says so rather than reporting the rise from August as progress. August was the month your listing carried a competitor's name; measuring a recovery against it would flatter everyone involved.
  • Your site still says 73 reviews and you now have 79. I corrected that number in five places last month and it is already wrong again. It needs to stop being a thing I fix by hand.
  • Referrals and social both fell — referrals 14 → 2, social 21 → 10. I do not know why, and I am not going to invent a reason. Worth watching rather than acting on.
  • Clicks nearly doubling off a base of 21 is still a small number. Three months is the point where patterns start being real; this is the third.
  • The owner has not yet reviewed the Thai pages flagged as needing correction. They are performing well, which makes it easy to leave — and the owner saying the wording is wrong matters more than the ranking.

Questions for you

  1. How did September feel at the desk compared to August? Even “about the same” helps.
  2. Did the ice bath questions get easier after the pricing was corrected on the site?
  3. Phuket Insider and TripAdvisor need you to claim the listings. Only the owner can do that, and nothing on either can be corrected until it is done. I will send you the exact links. (Wanderlog I am handling directly with the blog's owner.)
  4. The owner — the Thai pages. They are doing well and you told me parts are wrong. I am reworking the Thai sauna page first so you only have to read it once — please read it after that, not before.
  5. Can I use the services and prices exactly as they appear on your website for the Google profile? If the website list is current, that is all I need and I will put it straight on the profile.
